Self-portrait of the author

Hello

I am currently at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University as an F.C. Austin Scholar in the full-time two-year MBA program. This is my first time living in a state that does not touch a major body of salt water. As a New Yorker, I will continue to insist no matter where I live that one “stands on line” to buy movie tickets, not “in line.”

Previous to Kellogg I was the Director of Product Marketing at Data Robotics, a leading data storage vendor, in Santa Clara, CA. Many people think storage is boring. I get jazzed about it. Seriously, I do love storage and anything that goes RAID in the night. If you need storage, you really owe it to yourself to check out Data Robotics Drobo line of storage products.

Prior to that I was a technology venture capitalist with RRE Ventures in New York. Investments while at RRE included Data Robotics (Storage), iCrossing (Digital Marketing/SEO), OpenPeak (Consumer Hardware Systems) and Rave Wireless (Mobile). Who wouldn’t love being a VC?

Before joining RRE I worked on technology, media and telecom mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance with Goldman Sachs in their lovely 85 Broad Street headquarters in New York. I’ve never worked so hard in my life.

In 2004 I was a Contributing Researcher to a series
 of
articles in The Wall Street Journal that
won a Pulitzer Prize in Journalism. In 2007, I came very close to accepting angel funding for a business plan I was working on in the consumer home health monitoring space, but never did because I didn’t feel like I had the right team in place to win. I learned a tremendous amount from that experience. I retain a deep personal interest in the consumer health web and mobile space.

I expect to receive my MBA from Kellogg in 2011. I received my BA in Political Science with Distinction from Stanford University in 2003 (Yes, all you kids out there–it’s true, you can get a job with a liberal arts degree!) and graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH in 1999.

I am also on the Young Executive Board of CampInteractive, a non-profit bridging the digital and leadership divide, based in Bronx, NY. Besides that, I am currently on the Advisory Board of Data Robotics, an advisor to the social-giving platform PinkDingo and also a number of stealth-stage Bay Area and NYC startups and entrepreneurs.
